Most of the grill is empty. That is the point.

Pack a skewer tight and the heat moves around it like one long piece — the middle never cooks, the ends burn. Pitmasters leave a gap between every piece so the fire can reach each one. The space that holds nothing is the part that makes it work.

It's Sunday afternoon at Grandma's pit — the first summer without her. She never wrote anything down, and the crowd keeps saying something's missing. Read the grill, choose one of ten lines, and remember her recipes one skewer at a time. What you leave off the skewer matters as much as what you put on.

Burnt ends were once scraps pushed aside and given away free. They're on the menu now.

HOW TO PLAY

  • Click or tap just outside the grill to push a skewer through a row or column
  • Swipe pieces to rearrange them
  • Fill orders before the food burns — anything burnt costs one star, unless the order calls for burnt ends
  • Hit the star quota before time runs out

Mouse or touch. 2–3 minutes per run.

This is a really great concept! The puzzle mechanic is very fun. I'd love to see an expanded version of this. The burnt food was very hard to manage and for some reason it was very jittery on my computer but really great job!

Thanks for the feedback! I made it playable in the browser so it would be easier to evaluate for the jam, but unfortunately there’s still some lag when playing the PC version. Sorry about that. Thanks so much for playing!
